Santa Catalina de Corrientes
Santa Catalina de Corrientes es una isla del Atlántico, cercana a las Antillas que los españoles llamaron así por las largas lenguas de lava hecha roca que invaden la frondosa selva desde el cráter del Dos Cruces.
Fue una de las primeras colonias del Pacífico cuyos habitantes se rebelaron contra los colonizadores. A diferencia de muchas islas de la zona siempre ha sido un lugar de convivencia entre culturas especialmente la francesa, africana, española y portuguesa. Fruto de una insólita política autárquica y socialista, Santa Catalina de Corrientes es un país pobre y pequeño que vive esencialmente de la pesca. Les importa más bien poco lo que tenga que decir un turista sobre sus servicios.
Desde mediados de los noventa la isla sufre una actividad volcánica que hace que periódicamente el Dos Cruces entre en erupción. Los habitantes de la isla son alegres pese a las dos cruces que les ha tocado soportar. Algunos empiezan a dar muestras de cansancio y enajenacion. Adentrarse en la selva les empieza provocar pánico.
